soundcore Motion+ | Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Hi-Res 30W Audio

This was bought to replace a Cambridge Audio Bluetooth speaker for hone use and for background music in a large hall. It is very clear, as loud as needed and pleasant to listen to. Being able to vary the tone through the graphic equaliser is a real bonus. At the price point I can't see any other 30W speaker available. It's well worth the modest outlay for accurate reproduction. It's a sound buy.

It's actually a good little speaker, nice and clear with rich bass but unfortunately the bass only hits 40hz, so if you listen to a lot of bass heavy music (Bass Boy for example) you will have silent gaps where the speaker isn't picking it up but other than that I'm very happy with it, and as a pure bass head I would have given it 5 stars if it was 30hz

It easily rivals the usual go - to's on the market for speakers.e.g. Beats Pill or Bose Mini.

The app's sound equalizer's custom settings range can help curate the perfect sound for quite a range of genres.

The low bass is top notch. Slick design too. Healthy battery life.

Was looking for a speaker that offered good sound while still being a portable size so chose the Motion+ based on the many great online reviews. I was impressed by the solid build, and the sound quality certainly lived up to expectations, though it's worth taking some time with the equaliser app to tune it to your personal music preferences.
I usually find 50% volume is about right indoors so the speaker isn't over-extended and the battery lasts well beyond the stated 12 hours.
When they were recently on offer I bought a second speaker to try pairing them in 'True Wireless Stereo' (TWS) mode, whereby one speaker becomes the dedicated Left channel and the second speaker the dedicated Right. This was well worth the investment as the stereo separation is clearly much improved and it gives an extra 30W if needed. (if going for TWS just ensure that you aren't trying to pair a pre-November 2022 speaker with the current model as they aren't compatible).
Also worth mentioning the excellent response from the Soundcore support team when I emailed them with a couple of questions about TWS.

Seriously impressed with the sound produced by the Motion+ after using the Soundcore app to optimise settings on the equaliser. Great bass for small unit, solid quality feel, thoroughly recommended. Very tempted to buy second unit for stereo effect. Easily lasts a complete day on a charge.

...previously had an Anker Soundcore 2 and wanted more of the same but bigger, settled on this after reading raves about the Motion X600, this suited my needs more, and significantly cheaper, (added to the fact it can handle the bass on Billie Eilish and Christina Aguilera recordings, even 'out of the box' with regular EQ settings without the soundcore app), this is a 'must' !:).It must be said that I use it exclusively 'wired' as I don't use bluetooth at all.

So impressed, genuinely amazing

Previously had a Marshall Emberton 2 which is a decent speaker (but it distorts quite badly over 70%).Decided to try the Motion+ as there were lots of recommendations from other users who had both saying the Motion+ was the way to go.I wasn't disappointed, the M+ quite easily outperforms the Marshall in all areas and over all types of music.Oh, and did I mention it's considerably cheaper so it's a win win.

Sound really fills the room,make sure your source device supports Aptx

Good sound and very easy to set up/connect. The iphone/ipad app works well and is easy to use. Battery lasts for a long time.

Bought this for music in the garden. I'm not very tech savvy and can't comment on base etc, however it plays my music and the volume can go pretty high. I got it on offer for £70 and can't complain about anything at that price.

The key thing about this speaker is that it has a good neutral balanced sound and not bass-heavy as some others are — notably the JBL, which I bought and then sent back. I understand that most modern music is bass-heavy and that’s what many young people want, esp those that want a speaker for outdoor parties, the beach etc. However, I listen to music from the 50s/60s/70s and it sounded awful on the JBL because the bass was so dominant changed the music completely. The Soundcore Motion+ gives an accurate sound for the sort of music I play. If you are looking for that, then this would be a good choice and what is currently a good price

Good clarity and the bass boost doesn’t distort the audio, as long as you don’t go to the max volume.Gave it 5 stars for everything, sound quality, battery life and bass quality. To be fair I usually listen to it around 6 to 7 hours every day, (393 days continuous use at the time of this review) so don’t have a problem with the battery life and always charge it up overnight, ready for the next day.Previously bought the Soundcore 2 but that wasn’t powerful enough for my needs, this more than meets expectations.Thought about buying the round JBL’s and other similar ones but glad I didn’t. So don’t delay and buy it today!

I was going to buy the cheaper Anker - at half the price but I went for this. I think its worth it. It is quite loud but I usually dont have it loud. as with nearly all devices like this it can get a bit shouty when you turn it up.What I love about this is the bass. And not the amount of it - anything can do this - but the articulation.I can hear exactly what the bass buitar is doing. It has depth and clarity on the bottom end.

I like my hi-fi system of the old days as these modern Bluetooth speakers are no match when it comes to sound, bass and treble, but I have to say this speaker is something very special.It is very nicely made and feels solid in hand. First out of the box with bass turned on, I thought this isn't right as it sounded too flat and then tried the available equalisers via the app but this didn't make too much difference either.As I always do, I started to play with the custom setting equaliser on the app and after 10 to 15 minutes I was amazed how much difference it made and it was very impressive, better then my 2 SONY speakers which are expensive and SONY isn't what it is used to be.The app is very easy to use once it's been paired via Bluetooth, the only downside I have found is if the speaker isn't connected to the device like mobile phone constantly then it turns off and you have to turn it back on again to use it, would like to see a setting on the app via which you can always keep it turned on rather then the 30, 60 minutes time out.I have found the following equaliser setting best for extra bass and extra treble, everyone has their own choice so you can tinker as you wish with the equalisers.

Mine got broken soon after I purchased it. And while I was prepping myself for a lengthy exchange the guys at Anker were very helpful. After identifying the fault (stopped charging) they sent a replacement. A very pleasant experience.As for the sound quality, I am very impressed for a gadget of this size and price.

So this was purchased to replace an older Anker Soundcore model (I forget which). I was previously happy with my older model, however, I let my stepdaughter have it as she needed a way to get better quality sound than the "speakers" in her mobile phone.I'm upset.I'm upset that I haven't transitioned sooner. I loved the old Soundcore, which had (for its size) a decent ability to provide good quality sound - nothing an audiophile would want to listen to for a massive period of time, but certainly a good quality and relatively precise.This model - it exceeds it, in so many ways. I'm very happy (despite needing the App on my phone to boost the bass a little). It's not perfect, but then again, as with the previous model, this isn't designed with the audiophile in mind. However, it's very capable, very responsive and more than able to stand on its own as a decent quality speaker. I'm not looking to get kicked in the chest in the way that JBL does with its little portable speakers, I want an accurate, detailed soundscape. This provides it.
