Anker <b>553</b> USB-C Hub (8-in-1)

This is a review less than 24hrs after getting it. I bought this because my new work laptop only has one HDMI port & want to use it on my dual HDMI monitors & to switch from work to home, using the same peripherals & ethernet. I anticipated having to do some fiddling with the work laptop, but no. It plugged into the Thunderbolt port & identified the screens. Switched back to my home PC & everything is the same, immediate success straight out of the box. So far, so good. It won't need to move too much, so should be good for a while, I've got some other Anker products & they're all still working well.

I needed a way to connect my laptop to 2 monitors when working from home. This device allows me to do that without the need for additional software or drivers as my work laptop does not allow me to install anything. Really pleased :-)

Works well - HP ProBook with 2x iiyama monitors. (3 screens total).
Seems v well built and a good price.
Only 4 starts - I've only had it 10 days - prob 5 stars if it keeps up the good work. Not tested the other ports either.

We have a large amount of field and remote workers. This device and at least one other Anker Hub have become part of our standard equipment. Takes up very little space and can be packed in a bag for travel.

Small and sleek - this gadget got the work done without being bulky at all! 10/10

Even though the product description doesn't mention it, I've tested this dock with Ubuntu Linux and found that all ports/functions work under that operating system.

I ordered this for work so I could connect my laptop and additional monitors. It works great and was very affordable.

Great product. It works for my dual screens (not including laptop screen) and I was able to use all USB, TF and SD memory without any issues.Definitely recommend this product as it is also extremely easy to carry as its size is very compact.

Works perfectly

I got two monitors for a home office setup, along with a mouse and keyboard and a headset, all of which needed to be plugged in. This was the perfect solution! I was skeptical that it would be able to output the described quality, but it is able to support both of my 2K monitors no problem! This is fast, reliable, portable, and cheap for the value it provides! I couldn't ask for better! I'd recommend this product, and this brand, to anyone!

A USB-C adapter with multi-USB 3.1 ports

So far, so excellent.

I bought this as i recently starting working from home and wanted a set up similar to what i have while at work. This worked perfectly, it powers both the monitors, allows me to use a mouse and another usb port for anything else i might need. It is able to charge the laptop and power everything else with ease.

Great for everything I needed and looks sleek. It can get a bit warm but it’s Anker so I know my devices are safe.

When I received this I was happy about the proportions. Build quality was questionable with it being in plastic casing. Would have preferred a more premium material.I set up everything, was amazing to have 3 screens to work on. A few hours in and the product malfunctioned. I noticed a very high temperature on the device. Through my own trouble shooting I found that one of the HDMI ports had fried.I ordered a new one and returned the malfunctioned one as I did like the product. Upon receiving the new device I can feel that this is noticeably cooler and nothing has malfunctioned 1 day in!I will keep this review updated a month later.

It is one of the very few hub that has two HDMI port, and a detachable cable. It is from Anker, a reputable brand. Even though it is a entry level device, it really does feel quite cheap.I initially bought it for the Mrs, who uses a laptop that needs 65w power. When using the stock charger, laptop complains about slow charging, which we don't mind. I realised later the hub itself needs 15w to run. We also bought a longer cable so we can hide the hub with all the cabling. I later bought another one for my laptop, which comes with 130w charger. Due to limitation of the hub, it can only provide max 85w, which again, I don't mind. I don't mind the laptop being slow charged. However, in few occasions, I turn on the laptop and it refuse to charge (I am not sure if the fault is on the hub or the laptop). So I returned it at the end. I now use Dell WD19TBS which comes with its own 180w charger. And Mrs uses the 130w charger came with my laptop with this hub, it no longer complain about the slow charging. :)
